HSA to Focus on Vehicle Safety During Construction Safety Week

The Health and Safety Authority has said that it will focus on vehicle safety this Construction Safety Week, an area which the authority presumably believes needs to be improved upon. Construction Safety Week, the aim of which is to reduce the number of construction site accidents and injuries and subsequently the number of construction accident claims, will see the HSA inspecting construction sites around Ireland and educating staff and management on the different methods and techniques which can be used to improve safety.
Two workers have already lost their lives this year due to accidents involving construction machinery, and although this number is much improved on last year, the HAS is keen to point out the dangers of working with potentially lethal equipment.
